Almost New Years Eve Party:: This is one of our biggest SWO parties of the year. It happens every December 30th (except when December 30 is a Saturday in which case we'll go on December 29). It is an all-nighter that keeps everyone on their toes! Don't miss this event!!!
Bible Quizzing:: SWO has a wonderful history of strong Bible Quizzing. Our success is found when more churches get involved! Get your church involved in Bible study this year! Contact Bob DeLong, our Quiz Director.
BLAST:: BLAST stands for Building Leaders And Sharing Talents. We have our district competition on two weekends in March and those who qualify go on to Mount Vernon for the Regionals. Teens can participate in athletics and different academic categories as well. Look for more information around November or December.
College & Career:: College & Career individuals are some of the most important people in your church. Unfortunately, they are also the more overlooked. Strive to offer a ministry for these students who are aged 19-23.
Early Youth:: Early Youth ministries include all teens who have completed the sixth grade through ninth grade. Churches may have it set up differently due to their school system (i.e. those in sixth through eighth).
Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center:: This is our district campgrounds. Chuck & Brenda Hail are our directors and they do a fantastic job! Plan early if you want to use this facility for your youth retreat... it is in high demand!
Kings Island Nazarene Day:: Every year we plan a Nazarene Day at Kings Island. Nazarenes from all over the tri-state area flood this awesome theme park. Take your group and get a great discount!
Mount Vernon Nazarene University:: MVNU is our regional college. It is located approximately one hour north of Columbus and offers a great range of academic courses for any student. The campus is one of the most scenic and high-tech of any Nazarene college in the world! Schedule a campus visit today.
MVNU Breakaway:: This is a special weekend planned for all those seniors who have applied to MVNU. It allows you to see the campus in action, not to mention hang out with some current students.
MVNU Dunks & Slices:: MVNU Cougar basketball is awesome to see. Come visit the campus during one of these home Cougar games and get free pizza! It's great for the entire youth group to attend, no matter how old or young!
MVNU Freshmen/Sophomore Day:: This is a special day to help all those freshmen and sophomores get started with their college plans. There are always so many questions and this will help provide the answers. The earlier you start the better off you are.
MVNU VIP Day:: VIP Day is open for all high school juniors and seniors. It is a great opportunity to find out more about MVNU and firm up your decision. Treatment is definitely first rate too. YOU are the VIP for the day at MVNU!
See You At The Pole:: Every September a day is set aside for students around the country and world to meet early... before school ...and pray. Get your adults and students pumped for this awesome event and talk to your school administration about it too.
Senior Youth:: Senior youth is that ministry that targets the high schooler, usually tenth through twelfth grades. Schedules for these students get very difficult so keep them involved!! Stick with them so they don't "check out" when they graduate!
Teen:: No adequate definition has been found!
Youth Workers:: Youth workers are the most important people in every church in the world. They work endless hours, cry uncounted tears, dry the eyes of broken hearts, quiet every crowd, play games in their sleep, have shaving cream next to their bed (just in case), clean TP out of their yard weekly and most of all... have hearts of gold! Thanks for all you are doing working with teenagers! Your crown in heaven is going to be mighty big!!
